At North Bay Word Play, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to communicate with confidence. Our services are designed to meet children where they are, celebrate their unique strengths, and provide families with the tools and support they need.

  • We offer free phone consultations to discuss your concerns, answer questions, and help you decide whether speech therapy may be the right fit for your child.

  • If you are unsure whether your child may benefit from speech therapy, we offer low-cost screenings. These are brief, in-person meetings designed to help determine whether a full evaluation may be recommended.

  • Our comprehensive evaluations look at all areas of communication, along with your child’s oral structures and functions. Following the evaluation, you’ll receive a detailed report and an individualized therapy plan tailored to your child’s needs.

  • Therapy sessions are individualized, play-based, and focused on building functional communication skills. Sessions range from 30–60 minutes, depending on your child’s needs. We use evidence-based practices, family collaboration, and engaging activities to support meaningful progress across home and community settings.

  • We also provide support for children who use augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), including systems like Proloquo2Go and LAMP. Therapy focuses on making AAC a natural and empowering way for children to express themselves and connect with others.
