Frequently asked questions.

What is Speech Therapy?
Speech-language pathology, often called speech therapy, helps children with talking, understanding language, social communication, and even early feeding skills. Some kids need help with sounds, some with putting words together, and others with feeling confident talking to friends or adults. Every child is different, so therapy is tailored to fit your child’s needs.

Do you take insurance?
At this time, services are private pay only. We do provide superbills (detailed invoices) that you may submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. Please check directly with your provider, as coverage varies.

How do I know if my child needs speech therapy?
Every child develops at their own pace, but some signs that speech therapy may help include:

  • Not talking as much as other children their age

  • Difficulty being understood by family or friends

  • Trouble following directions or understanding questions

  • Stuttering or getting “stuck” on words

  • Challenges making friends or joining play because of communication struggles

If you’re unsure, we’re happy to talk with you. A quick consultation or evaluation can give you peace of mind and a clear plan forward.

Where do sessions take place?
We make it easy for your child. Sessions can happen:

  • In your home

  • Outside at a park

  • At your child’s preschool or private school (with school permission)

Therapy in natural settings helps kids feel comfortable and makes learning fun.

How long are sessions?

Sessions typically range from 30 to 60 minutes, depending on your child’s needs and attention. The frequency of sessions will be discussed and tailored after the evaluation.

What ages do you work with?
We see children from birth to 18 years of age.

What happens during an evaluation?
An evaluation is our chance to really get to know your child. A comprehensive evaluation may include parent interviews, play-based interaction, observation, and standardized testing (if appropriate). Afterward, you’ll receive a written report and an individualized therapy plan.

Do you offer free consultations?
Yes! We’re happy to schedule a quick phone consultation to answer your questions and see if an evaluation would be helpful for your child.

What if we need to cancel a session?
We ask that you provide at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule a session. This allows us to accommodate other families.
